Holy Purpose - A Call to Consecrated Life

What does it truly mean to live a life set apart for God? This sermon dives deep into the beloved story of Noah and uncovers layers most of us never encountered in Sunday school. We explore the Hebrew word 'mabul,' the word used to describe the great flood, and discover that it does not simply mean rain or rising water. It describes an overwhelming force born from chaos and confusion that people knew was their own fault. That single detail reframes everything. The flood was not a surprise. People understood what was happening and why, yet no one got on the boat. From there, we are introduced to a distinction that changes the way we think about our faith: the difference between calling and consecration. Our calling is what God intends for us based on the gifts He has placed in us. Consecration is the active, daily decision to actually live that calling out. Faith without works, as James reminds us, is lifeless. We may know exactly what we are called to do and still never take a single step toward it. This message challenges us to ask honestly where we are sitting still when God has already handed us a hammer.
