Serve
We believe that the Great Commission doesn't stop at our church doors. We believe in being the hands and feet of Christ through the community, country, and world. We have many opportunities for you to partner with us and other worthy organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.

United Methodist Men
The Mission Statement for the St. Luke's United Methodist Men is:
"To help men grow in Christ so all will know Christ. This is achieved through supportive fellowship, spiritually-based practices and prayer, and witnessing on behalf of Christ through daily work and service. "
Our motto is: "Be you doers of the Word, not just sayers."
We meet monthly for breakfast, fellowship, and devotion on the second Sunday at 7:30AM. We alternate between our Family Life Center and local restaurants. Our next meeting is September 14 at 7:30AM in our Family Life Center.
December 2025 Update
The United Methodist Men of St. Luke’s wish to share with the congregation that we have made charitable donations during the past year to local organizations (as well as St. Luke’s Church) as our way of assisting and supporting the work of these community-based groups. Some of the donations include: (Total = $12,700.00)
$5,000 = St. Luke’s Capital Campaign Fund (in memory of Dan Causey)
$1,250 = St. Luke’s Christian Aid Fund $500 Patrick Beaver Learning Center
$1,000 = Sipes Orchard Home $500 = Centro Latino
$1,000 = United Methodist Dollars for Scholars $500 = Exodus Homes
$1,000 = Hurricane Helene Relief Fund $500 = Foothills Veterans Helping Veterans
$500 = Salvation Army $250 = Bibles for the St. Luke’s Hispanic Ministry
$500 = Cooperative Christian Ministries $200 = St. Luke’s Pumpkin Patch
The United Methodist Men wish to encourage the congregation and friends of St. Luke’s Church to contribute to our fund-raising efforts through your personal donations and charitable giving. Additionally, we ask everyone to consider purchasing pine straw from us each spring and fall. The pine straw sales & delivery is our primary source of income each year. We want to continue to make charitable contributions in the future to Hickory-area organizations, and we can only do this when our pine straw sales are successful.
In 2026, we will be seeking more volunteers to help with the pine straw deliveries. The next time that we initiate a pine straw sale (probably in early-March, 2026), we plan to ask our youth, young adults, and ambitious older generation to pitch-in with us …. ask your children, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces if they will contribute a few hours on a Saturday morning to help us load bales of pine straw and deliver the bales throughout the Hickory-area. We know this will be a worth-while experience for everyone!
Finally, we invite all the men of the church to join our fellowship! The St. Luke’s United Methodist Men enjoy great camaraderie, meaningful fellowship, and purposeful support for one another and the church.
UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH
The organized unit of the United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
We meet monthly on the third Thursday in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.
