St. luke's flood bucket project

In this time of dire need, many have asked, "How can we help our brothers and sisters in NC affected by Hurricane Helene?"  St. Luke's Church would like to help you help others.

Pray... pray without ceasing!  God hears our prayers and comforts his people in time of need.  Psalm 6:9 tells us, "The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer."

Donate ... you can give financially online at www.slumc.org/give and select the option for Flood Buckets.  The cost of one complete flood bucket is $75.00.

Fill ... fill UMCOR cleaning buckets aka flood buckets.  We will gather to assemble flood buckets Sunday Oct 6th at 5 PM in the Family Life Center.  St. Luke's will supply the buckets and lids.  You can help by purchasing and bringing the items to fill a bucket (see below).  We ask that you bring the items needed to exactly fill one bucket (or two or three!). So that we can fill them efficiently, please do not bring items in bulk.   If you cannot join us Sunday afternoon, we will have carts outside the church office through Saturday Oct 5th and in the courtyard Sunday morning to drop off your items.

What is a Flood Bucket??  Visit the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) website for more info on how flood buckets are used and how this helps victims of devastating events like Hurricane Helene.
