Consecration Sunday Is Coming
Dear Members and Friends of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church,
Sunday, October 19th will be our church’s Consecration Sunday. I hope you will make plans to attend two important events that day:
Sunday morning at 10 AM we will worship together in the main sanctuary with our new District Superintendent, Rev. Sally Queen, who will bring the message. Then, a catered Celebration Luncheon for everyone will follow in the Family Life Center immediately after worship.
Consecration Sunday is a process designed to enrich our spiritual health and biblical understanding of Christian
stewardship. Rather than focusing on the need of the church to receive, the experience focuses on the need of the giver
to give for their own spiritual growth and well-being.
Stewardship of our financial resources and our commitment to support the ministries of the church is an act of worship and a response to God’s generosity towards us. Consecration Sunday is a vitally important time in the life of the church and in the lives of those who articipate.
At a later date, you will receive a personal invitation to participate in Consecration Sunday and the Celebration
luncheon on October 19th. We hope that you will prayerfully consider how you want to grow in this area of your spiritual life and celebrate with us the abundance of God’s blessings in your life and the life of the church.
With Gratitude,
Will Roberts
