We are excited to have some wonderful staff changes happening at St. Luke's beginning this Fall!
Reverend Monica Childers was ordained as a deacon in the United Methodist Church at the 2017 Annual Conference. She is moving from serving as the Minister to Youth and College-Aged Adults to serving as our Associate Pastor. She will carry on many of the responsibilities that Pastor Cindy had with special emphasis on adult leadership development and volunteer coordination.
Andrew Woods is our new Minister of Youth and College-Aged Adults. He is a 2012 graduate of High Point University and a 2016 graduate of Duke University Divinity School. For the past 2 years, he has served as the youth minister at Aldersgate UMC in Durham. He has experience directing recreational ministries and serving in leadership for the Annual Conference youth program. He is passionate about creating and growing ministry programs that are exciting and inviting for young people.
Pat McKim is our new Director of Children's Ministry. She most recently served as Director of Children's Ministry at First UMC of Salisbury, NC. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University. She also has training and certification in ministry coaching. Pat has led many children's ministry training events and programs in our conference. She brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership which will allow us to continue to grow our ministry to children and their families.
Jessica Stamey is moving from Music Ministry/Children's Ministry to serving as the Associate Director of Music and Creative Arts. She will continue to serve as the worship leader at the Awakening Service, director of Kids of the Kingdom LIVE, and assisting/accompanying Crossflame. As she passes the baton of children's ministry to Pat, she will now serve as our technology and digital media coordinator, with an emphasis on digital storytelling.
