Children  at  St. Luke's

We value children at St. Luke's. We believe they have a special place in the Kingdom of God and at St. Luke's. Children are treated with dignity and are encouraged to participate and lead in worship. Connect with our dedicated children's minister Pat McKim to learn more about our children's ministry. We're always happy to add to our amazing group of ministry leaders!

Kids of the Kingdom Music & Creative Arts Registration

With the beginning of school comes the beginning of Kids of the Kingdom Choir for the 2019-2020 season. Our first day of rehearsal will be September 4. This year, we have a wonderful addition to our program. We will be adding Kindergarteners and 1st graders on Wednesday afternoons under the leadership of Marie Denig. Jessica Stamey will still be working with the 2nd-5th graders and we will do some things together. Marie, Jessica, and Pat McKim have been working on some other awesome things we will have on Wednesday afternoons, including a devotion and learning activities. We will sing for worship 2-3 times a semester and learn Christmas and Spring musicals. We have made tentative plans to do our Christmas and spring musicals at nursing/retirement homes as a “dress rehearsal” and to again attend the children’s choir festival in early 2020.

Children's  Activities

Below is a list of activities for children offered at St. Luke's. For more information, contact Pat McKim.

  • SUNDAY SCHOOL

    SUNDAYS AT 9:50 AM // CHILDREN'S BUILDING

Join us every Sunday in the Children's Building at 9:50 AM for fun, age-appropriate Bible lessons for all children from toddlers to 4th graders. (Our 5th graders join with our 6th and 7th graders for a special "tween" class held in the youth building.)

  • Joy Kids Worship

SUNDAYS DURING THE BLENDED (10:55 AM) + BILINGUAL (11:00 AM) SERVICES

Children's church is held during our later worship services. The children are dismissed during the service to gather in the Narthex of the Sanctuary and have their own worship service in a kid-friendly space. All children ages 5-3rd grade are welcome to join

  • THE PRAYGROUND

SUNDAYS AT 8:45 AM // FAMILY LIFE CENTER

During our 8:45 AM Awakening Service, we have a special place set up in our Fellowship Hall (where the Awakening service occurs) for children of all ages to engage in worship in their own ways. There are two tables and a rug, with quiet toys, books, crayons, coloring sheets, and other fun things to engage little hands during the worship service.

  • NURSERY + CHILDCARE

    SUNDAYS + WEDNESDAYS // CHILDREN'S BUILDING

We offer nursery during all of our worship services for children from birth-4 years old. Children too young for Sunday School have a safe, fun place to be during that time in our nursery. We also have childcare available during our Wednesday night Bible studies and rehearsals for infants-5th graders. In addition, childcare is provided during special services and large events that are especially for adults.

  • K.I.C.K.S. & KIDS OF THE KINGDOM CHOIR

SUNDAYS AT 9:50 AM + WEDNESDAYS AT 3:30 PM

In conjunction with the music department, we offer two choirs for our children. K.I.C.K.S. (Kids In Christ's Kingdom Sing) meets on Sunday mornings as part of Sunday School in the Children's Building. This group is for preschool and performs in worship every 4-6 weeks. Elementary students in Sunday School also enjoy music time, with singing and instruments. Kids of the Kingdom Choir meets on Wednesday afternoons with pick-up from area schools. This group is for 2nd-5th graders and learns one musical per semester in addition to performing for worship. For more information about either group, contact Jessica Stamey. You can register for Kids of the Kingdom here.
