Serve  in  our  community.

Our youth and adults work together to partner with our community connections. To learn more about serving our community, read about the different teams below. Contact Pastor Monica for more information about these and other community organizations.

  • COOPERATIVE CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

We partner with Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry to provide important services to people in need. There is an organization called NETworX as part of GHCCM that assists people with getting out of poverty. In addition, every Thursday from 2:00 until 3:30 at the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministries, our team of dedicated volunteers offer hospitality, groceries, and prayers to our neighbors. Rocking babies, handing out coffee and cookies, and giving out groceries are small ways we can extend love to our neighbors. Dolores Queen leads our hospitality and prayer groups during Christian Aid. To volunteer to extend radical hospitality to our neighbors in crisis, connect with Dolores or Pastor Monica.

  • FAMILY CARE CENTER

Family Care Center of Catawba Valley offers physical, emotional, social, and educational services to assist homeless families with dependent children through an emergency residential program.

  • SAFE HARBOR RESCUE MISSION

St. Luke's partners with Safe Harbor Rescue Mission as the organization works to provide "a Christ-centered community where women can work to rebuild their lives through immediate and long-term programs."

  • HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

St. Luke's partners with Habitat for Humanity of Catawba Valley in apostle builds and other support avenues. This organization helps to provide a way to homeownership for those who might not have that opportunity otherwise. For more information, contact Deb Dowling.
